What is Lip Blush?
Lip blush is a semi-permanent tattoo designed to enhance the natural shape and colour of your lips. Think of it as a sheer wash of tint—not a harsh lip liner. It brings out your lips’ natural tone, corrects uneven pigment, and adds a subtle boost of colour that can last for years.

What’s the Process Like?
Here’s a step-by-step overview of what you can expect when you book a lip blush session at my Oakville studio:
- Consultation – We start by chatting about your goals, natural lip tone, and ideal colour. I’ll walk you through the process and answer all your questions.
- Pre-draw & Shape – I’ll map out your lips carefully to enhance your natural shape. Nothing is done until you’re 100% happy with the look.
- Numbing – A topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable throughout the procedure.
- Tattooing – Using a gentle machine and custom pigment, I’ll deposit colour into your lips layer by layer. This part takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
- Aftercare Instructions – You’ll go home with detailed aftercare steps to ensure the best results.
Does Lip Blush Hurt?
Pain is very minimal for most clients. I use a high-quality numbing cream to ensure your comfort, and many people say they feel little more than a light scratching sensation. If you’ve ever had microblading or laser hair removal, lip blush is typically much more comfortable.
What’s the Healing Process Like?
Healing takes about 5–7 days. Immediately after the procedure, your lips will look more intense in colour—this is completely normal and fades as your lips heal. During this time, you will not be able to wear any makeup on the lips (face and eyes are ok!).
During healing:
- Lips may feel dry, tight, or flaky
- Avoid touching, picking, or exfoliating the area
- Follow the aftercare instructions I provide for the best results
The true healed colour will reveal itself after about 4–6 weeks (up to 12 for neutralizing), at which point we’ll perfect the shade and shape at your touchup appointment.
How Long Does Lip Blush Last?
Lip blush can last anywhere from 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for your lips. A touch-up every 12–18 months can help maintain your results. I recommend using spf thought the day on your lips. This will help protect the tattoo and help prevent premature fading due to sun exposure. Any spf level will do, as long as you’re reapplying as necessary.

Absolutely—but it’s important to choose a trained, experienced, and certified artist who follows strict hygiene protocols. I use only high-quality pigments and disposable, sterile tools in a professional studio setting here in Oakville.
